The PuristS visit to Glashütte Original in October 2003 ended with an Italian feast at
'Ristorante Rossini' in the Dresden Hilton Hotel.

The menu carte and place setting.

Amuse bouche of salmon mousse et al.

2001 Frascati Superiore D.O.C., Vigneto Santa Teresa, Fontana Candida.

A cheeky little wine, crisply dry and light, which reflected the mood of the evening. Everyone was infected with the joy of each other's company and many friendships were started or strengthened during the evening. Note to self: "Germany is a drinking nation and Glashütte Original staff upheld national pride with aplomb!"

King prawns with herbs, melon and pesto foam.

Clear fish soup Sicilian style with fennel and garlic.

Back and front labels of our red wine - 1996 Barolo D.O.C.G., La Vigna, Fontanafredda.

A robust wine, which had been decanted and had absorbed the convivial atmosphere of the party so it was far from being a 'cold fountain'.

Fillet of veal with truffles in milk sauce on young vegetables and parmesan crisp.

Truffles.....say no more...yummy.

Parfait of raspberry on lemon mirror, parfumed with fresh mint.

A perfect ending on a sweet 'note' in Rossini's.

A couple of grappa to end the evening.

The di Brunello was 'clear' tasting and the other erased my memory :)
